Okay, today wasn’t a bad day at all so far everything went according to my plans. I spent my evening over at my friend’s place where I got my hands on acrylic paints for the 1st time. I always wanted to experiment with oil & acrylic paints but never had a chance or the time for it. Back in the school days I’ve done numbers of painting based on water color and later got busy with life.

Anyhow, here is the [snap] of the painting that i’ve made today.

I’m spending the last few hours of my day off writing some imaginary rhythm patterns and fat bass lines which I would probably be using in one of the songs.

Track 01

I just finished recording the first song for my album. This song is consisting of total 21 tracks and it was a pain to mix them down without leaving out anything. All the patches used in the song are designed by me using a Roland XV-5080 sound engine which is built in my Fantom and rest are made on software based engines which will be soon replaced by novation x-Station for the final mix down. Stay tuned..

Here comes another year.

One more year passed by & what’s left behind is just a box full of terrible rotten memories. 2006 wasn’t a very pleasant year for me as I’ve erased almost everyone from my list of people that meant every fucking thing to me. My shit list is becoming awfully heavy for me to handle.

My present job is one of the good things that happened in 2006 along with an unexpected promotion that I got a week ago. Also, Its been 5 months since I quit cigarette and I’m glad that I’m capable of resisting.

I have many things to accomplish this year and I need to be more focused than ever. I hope New Year brings you all everything that you always wanted in life. Be honest to yourself…

Okay, I just received another SMS from the organizer of Rock Blast. Looks like there going to be an event call Art & Music Festival on the 23rd of Nov at American International School of Kuwait. Starting from 2:00pm till 9:30pm.

Rock Blast 2006 [Cancelled]

I just received a sms from one of the organizer of Rock Blast 2006 & they are extremely sorry to announce that the concert has been cancelled.

I’m trying to get the whole story behind the cancellation & I will update shortly.

The reason behind cancelling the show sounds quiet absurd to me. Anyhow, this is what the show organizers wrote to me.

“At first the Green Island Management was interested and was willing to help with the concert, but after a while they seemed hesitant and did not tell us what was bothering them. Later they told us to go ahead with all the arrangement and design the poster, advertise etc. So we did as we were told and advertised the concert still awaiting the final confirmation.

After a few days of much advertising they cancelled the concert because of a past issue concerning ‘Rock Rage’ which was also held at Green Island, saying that it was an act of Satanism and so on.

After that we tried our luck with Mesilla Beach and the same thing happened there too… first they approved the concert and then within a few days changed their mind and cancelled it. They said it was because the press got involved and that the Green Island Management was supporting their cause to stop the concert from taking place, calling it a satanic ritual.”

Papercut Art

I’ve never seen something like this before. As you see the image above which is a 3D paper craft from a single A4 Paper. Peter Callesen makes white paper cuts/sculptures inspired by fairytales and romanticism exploring the relationship between two and three dimensionality, between image and reality. MediaCast Dubai

I just got off the phone with MediaCast Dubai. I called to enquire about M-Audio products since I need to buy shit load of new equipments for my home studio. MediaCast are known as the best distributor and solution provider in the Middle East for computer based media productions and the guy that attended my call was extremely friendly and helpful, he knew everything about the products that I was looking for.

Unlike [Romco] the distributors of M-Audio & Avid products in Kuwait. They sell simple gears for twice the price and the people that works in there don’t know jack shit about 75% of the products that’s on display. It is a shame for an equipment showroom like Romco to provide aweful service and not to forget that most of their products are outdated.

I will be flying to Dubai as soon I manage to get a short vacation from work, that would probably be somewhere in the end of this year or within the first week of Jan. Since, my job gets busier during Christmas and New Year and it gonna be impossible to take a leave during that period.

BT ‘This Binary Universe’

I was never a big fan of BT and to be honest I never liked any of his songs or any of his remixes. Instead, me and my friend always made fun of him for being on the cover of every musical gear and software magazines and websites, pimping brand new products for something we call endorsement.

Like most days of the year, I was ‘window shopping’ some brand new jaw dropping gears over the internet and this little AD of BT’s new album caught my eyes and apparently after listening to some demo clips I ended up download the entire album. Listening to his new album ‘This Binary Universe’ with my extreme critical ears, I must say BT was never this fantastic before, it isn’t one of his typical 4/4 beat trance album. The entire record sounds brilliant – soothing – electronic – glitchy & enigmatic.

Being the BT hater, I highly recommend you to pick up a copy of his record or at least take a look at the visual teaser on [www.thisbinaryuniverse.com]
